One of our largest and interesting forest trees, from the pūriri moth that lives within it to the bright pink flowers and fruit that are pollinated and spread only by birds. Extremely hard wood with many pūriri strainer posts still standing today. A beautiful specimen tree with lush foliage. Grows up to 10m tall growing with a rounded spreading canopy. Frost tender when young.
