Hello! We're Ricky and Jess of Mangawhai Natives.

We may have met before! Since 2014, we have been an established Northland green-scaping business, supplying native plants and offering an inground planting and maintenance service.

Towards the end of 2021, we explored our business values and acknowledged that for us, sustainability and the environment is entwined in everything we do. It’s what fuels us. Our energy and efforts feel at their best when we’re foraging for local seeds, eco-sourcing plants and guarding their health as though they were our own.

Our new direction

As passionate growers, our success has always started with our product – beautiful, healthy and resilient natives from our home-based rural nursery. What does that mean for you?

It’s good news!
It means we have simplified our offering to focus on the plant supply arm of our business. We exist to be a reliable ‘one stop – online shop’ for all native plants, servicing customers in the Rodney, Bream Bay and Kaipara areas.

By offering an online shopping experience, we can ditch the traditional ‘garden centre’ concept and focus our efforts on competitive pricing and convenience.

What stays the same

One thing that will never change is our warm and friendly business ethos. You’ll still deal directly with Jess or Ricky on every order that passes our desk.

Our knowledge and experience will guide you on the best alternative plants if stock is an issue, along with tips and advice to ensure incredible results.

Browse our full range of native plants from the comfort of your workplace or home and place an order to suit. You can also catch us at the Mangawhai Community Markets at the school in Mangawhai Village, every Saturday from Easter until Labour Weekend from 9am till 1pm.
