Unique heart shaped leaves make this a special addition in your bush or garden. Around Mangawhai this common shrub is found in the understory and in shady areas. Bright orange candle-like berries attract the birds. Prefers semi-shade to full shade and can handle dry soils. Used commonly in Māori medicine - Rongoā. Steep leaves in a tea or bath or use topically. A must have in any garden.
