The king of the forest, but do not be put off by planting one of these in your garden. The slow growth of the kauri makes for an appropriate and special landscaping specimen. We need to plant more with the pressure of Kauri Dieback. Our local area was once covered in kauri and the seed is collected from Bream Tail. Prefers a sheltered area with moist soil which does not dry out over summer.
